2014 PWB Chair

I am excited and proud to announce that I was inducted as the 2014 Chair of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council during the International Builder’s Show.

PWB, for those of you who may not be familiar with it, is the voice of women in the building industry. The group is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting our members at the local, state and national levels by offering networking and educational opportunities, legislative awareness and outreach, and professional and personal development.

Being named Chair is one of my proudest achievements to date. Since joining PWB several years ago, my membership has presented me with opportunities to learn, to grow professionally and personally, to meet some amazing industry professionals and make great friends.

I’ve served in leadership within the group at the national level, first as communications chair and then as a regional trustee, before serving as vice chair during the past year. During this time, I have seen the amazing work that our members are capable of accomplishing and I have some very specific goals for the next year for PWB. Over the next year, I will not only manage the council’s business and represent the interests of the council members throughout NAHB to the best of my ability, but I will also work to build a broader base of leadership, achieve full integration of PWB into NAHB, increase council membership, raise money for BUILD-PAC and increase the number of PWB councils at the local level.

PWB is an organization that is making a difference in our industry and I am truly honored to be Chair for 2014. I look forward to working with this fantastic group of women to continue addressing the issues impacting women in the industry, as well as further expand our reach as we continue to grow across the country.
