My fourth book on social media was released by NAHB Builder Books at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando in 2018. Needless to say, I’m super excited to have an updated book out! “Social Media Marketing for Your Business” takes a different approach than I have in the past. Rather than talking about “how to” set up the various social media sites, I take a deeper dive into the “why” of social media and strategic marketing.
By now most companies have a website, Facebook page and Twitter or various other social media accounts. However, often what they are missing is the strategy to make them work together and produce results that meet goals. This book is designed to help companies think strategically about social media and how it fits into the overall marketing strategy. Carol Morgan, founder and owner of Flammer Relations, Inc., is excited to announce that her firm is now servicing accounts under the name Denim Marketing. With their new look, she and her team will focus on the core catalog of services that has earned their winning reputation, including public relations, social media, blogging, strategic marketing, promotions and content development.
Why Denim Marketing? “While our agency-client relationships may feel like a favorite pair of Saturday-morning jeans, this team is designed for performance and functionality,” said Morgan. “We generate original, quality content for a full spectrum of channels. We keep abreast of social media trends, and are willing to roll up our sleeves to get the information into the right hands.”
As a public relations and marketing practitioner for more than 20 years, Morgan has observed the growing online and offline competition for consumer attention. I bet you still think that a picture is worth a thousand words! Well, that is a bit of an understatement with today’s highly visual online sites. Images, unlike text, are processed by your long-term memory. And, if that isn’t enough, images are proven to increase audience engagement! I hope you will join me as I present “The State of Social Media 2015: Getting the Picture” with Chad Davis, Senior Director, Online Services and Digital Media for NAHB at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas.
We will present our session on Thursday, January 22, in the Tech Hub from 10 – 11 a.m.
Chad and I have covered a number of topics related to social media at trade shows over the past several years. From blog trends to pay to play on Facebook, The State of Social Media, has covered the latest and kept members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) up to date. I am excited and proud to announce that I was inducted as the 2014 Chair of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council during the International Builder’s Show.
PWB, for those of you who may not be familiar with it, is the voice of women in the building industry. The group is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting our members at the local, state and national levels by offering networking and educational opportunities, legislative awareness and outreach, and professional and personal development.
Being named Chair is one of my proudest achievements to date. Since joining PWB several years ago, my membership has presented me with opportunities Continue reading “2014 PWB Chair”
There are seven cosmic stages, seven ancient and visible planets, seven Chakras in Indian culture, seven days in a week and seven colors in a rainbow. Pythagoreans called it the perfect number, the universe was created in seven days and in Chinese culture, the seventh day of the first moon of the lunar year celebrates the universal birthday of all human beings.
And if you’ll be in Vegas for the joint National Association of Home Builders International Builders Show (IBS) and National Kitchen and Bath Association’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), sevens can be lucky if you pull three in a row on a slot machine. Seven has been my lucky number since I was a little girl, but seven is also a great number because it is the number of opportunities you will have to sit in on one of my programs at KBIS and IBS.
It will be a busy three days, but I am excited about the social media and marketing strategies, tips and ideas that my co-presenters and I will share in these presentations.
